Speedway Children's Charities spreads holiday cheer

With Miracle Flyer Johanna Tabios and her family as our special guests, we attended the Speedway Children’s Charities Las Vegas grant ceremony on December 10 for a fun-filled night of food, gifts and a visit from Santa (who arrived by helicopter). Johanna, who has flown with us several times, is successfully undergoing treatment for severe allergies (see her story here). Her successes and so many others are made possible by supporters like Speedway Children’s Charities, which gave us a new grant for $2,400 this week. Thank you!

You helped us beat our Giving Tuesday goal!

It’s not too late to give! We still have a matching offer in effect, so you can give now and have twice the impact. Or, if you’d like to stop by with an in-person donation, email us!

Twins celebrate first birthday on the road to recovery

Happy Birthday to Andrew and Isaac from Sterling Heights, who turn 1 year old today. With help from Miracle Flights, the two have traveled twice to St. Louis, where experts are treating their clubfoot, a complex condition that causes the boys’ tiny feet to twist inward. As they celebrate their first birthdays, Andrew and Isaac are on the road to recovery — out of casts and into braces. Their parents hope the boys will take their first steps by February. And if more flights await in the new year, we’re here to help.

We're in 2 million homes today

You can read all about us in the December issue of Parents magazine, which has a circulation of more than 2 million. “Since 1985,” the article states, “the organization has arranged more than 128,00 flights for thousands of children across the country.” Media placements like this are an important way to build awareness of our services. You can help, too, by telling friends about us and tagging us on social media.

Timothy from Dallas beats the odds - one step at a time

7-year-old Timothy is walking on his own two feet — something doctors thought he’d never do. Born in China with a rare joint condition, Timothy was left untreated until his parents adopted him in 2016 and immediately sought care for him here in the U.S. Timothy boarded his first Miracle Flight three years ago this month. Shortly after that, he received a full hip replacement. Earlier this year, he took his first independent steps! Last month, he boarded his 12th Miracle Flight to get new leg casts that will help his bones grow straight. He returned home just in time for Thanksgiving. Keep up the great work, Timothy! All of us here at Miracle Flights cheer you on!
