Director of Corporate Philanthropy 

Reports to: Chief of Philanthropy
Location: Remote (U.S.) with travel as needed
FLSA Status: Exempt 

Position Summary 

The Director of Corporate Philanthropy is a non-managing director. This frontline fundraiser is responsible for developing, securing, and stewarding strategic partnerships that generate philanthropic revenue and expand national awareness of Miracle Flights. 

This position builds and manages a portfolio of corporate partners, corporate foundations, sponsorship opportunities, and high-capacity organizational prospects. The Director serves as the primary relationship manager for corporate funders, leading cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and long-term partnership growth. 

Working closely with the Chief of Philanthropy, this role helps advance Miracle Flights’ national fundraising strategy by creating meaningful partnerships that connect companies to the organization’s mission of providing free commercial flights to children and families traveling for life-changing medical care. 

Primary Responsibilities 

Corporate Partnership Development 

  • Build and manage a portfolio of corporate partners and prospects.  
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate donors.  
  • Develop customized partnership opportunities aligned with corporate philanthropic goals.  
  • Secure sponsorships, unrestricted support, and strategic partnerships.  
  • Expand Miracle Flights’ national corporate presence.  

Corporate Foundation Management 

  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for all corporate foundations.  
  • Collaborate with the Grants Specialist on proposal development and reporting.  
  • Lead meetings, site visits, and stewardship with foundation representatives.  
  • Ensure timely follow-up and long-term engagement. 

Strategic Partnerships 

  • Develop partnerships with:  
  • Airlines  
  • Travel industry organizations  
  • Healthcare companies  
  • Medical associations  
  • National brands  
  • Corporate employee giving programs  
  • Identify opportunities for cause marketing and mission-aligned collaborations.  

Sponsorship Development 

  • Secure sponsorships for fundraising and awareness campaigns and events.  
  • Develop sponsorship packages and benefits in partnership with the Impact team. 
  • Ensure sponsor recognition and fulfillment in partnership with the Manager of Fundraising & Events.   
  • Cultivate sponsors into long-term strategic partners.  

 Collaboration 

  • Partner with the Chief of Philanthropy on transformational partnership opportunities.  
  • Works closely with the Impact team on awareness and activation campaigns.  
  • Collaborate with the Director of Philanthropy on shared relationships and referral opportunities.  
  • Work with the Manager of Fundraising & Events to maximize sponsorship activation and campaign integration.  
  • Collaborate with the Philanthropy Associate to ensure accurate CRM documentation, reporting, acknowledgments, and stewardship tracking.  
  • Partner with the Grant Specialist by providing relationship strategy, funder insights, proposal direction, and reporting support.  

 Performance & Reporting 

  • Achieve annual revenue goals for corporate partnerships and sponsorships.  
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified prospects.  
  • Track activity, proposals, solicitations, and revenue in Bloomerang.  
  • Prepare pipeline forecasts and revenue projections.  
  • Report progress through monthly portfolio reviews and department dashboards.  

Qualifications 

Required 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.  
  • Five or more years of progressive fundraising, business development, corporate partnerships, or nonprofit development experience.  
  • Demonstrated success securing five- and six-figure corporate gifts or sponsorships.  
  • Experience managing complex donor or client relationships.  
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.  
  • Familiarity with Bloomerang or comparable CRM systems. 
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.  
  • Willingness to travel as needed.  

Preferred 

  • Experience in a national nonprofit organization.  
  • CFRE credential or interest in pursuing certification.
