Cookies
When you use the site, we may automatically collect and store some information about you and your device through cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies. We use these technologies to enhance your experience on our site. A “cookie” is a small data file sent from a website and stored on your device to identify your device in the future and allow for an enhanced personalized user experience. A “session cookie” may disappear after you close your web browser or expire after a fixed period. A “persistent cookie” remains after you close your web browser and may be accessed whenever you use our site. We may use both session and persistent cookies. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act
Miracle Flights does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children (minors younger than 13) on our online platforms without parental or guardian consent. If you are a parent or guardian and become aware that your child has provided us with information, please contact us using any of the methods outlined below.
How We Use Information
The information we collect is used to verify eligibility for children and their families who request flight(s), respond to questions, thank donors, inform about special events and marketing campaign initiatives, or provide other updates, to which you may opt-out. Personal data is never shared with advertisers. Like other nonprofits, Miracle Flights rents/exchanges its donor lists with other nonprofits to reduce expenses so that additional funds may go toward supporting Miracle Flights’ mission. We participate in specific “cooperative databases,” like many other reputable charitable organizations, to facilitate our fundraising activities. This means that we occasionally contribute specific donor names and postal addresses to a shared database that may be accessed by other participating organizations who also contribute certain information to the database. Note that the cooperative database does not allow participating organizations to identify donors to the nonprofit or access donation amounts but may identify a donor as being interested in a particular type of charitable organization (e.g., child health). Our partner organizations will not have continued access to your name and address unless you choose to respond to their mailings. They may also be required to comply with specific laws or guidelines concerning your information, such as the Direct Marketing Association’s guidelines for ethical business practice. We do not sell your information or share your email address with cooperative databases.
Miracle Flights may also use algorithms to provide our constituents with better and more personalized services. Different technologies are used to process information and recognize patterns in data. For example, data about constituents’ interactions with Miracle Flights and our campaigns are analyzed to optimize future communications and interactions. Miracle Flights may combine data collected across sources, including publicly available information.
If you decide you do not wish to have information shared with other nonprofits, Miracle Flights will remove your name and address from lists that are rented/exchanged. To request that your data be removed, please email us at info@miracleflights.org or (702) 261-0494, and we will honor your request.
