Meet CJ

Miracle Story

Meet CJ, a spirited toddler from Milton, Florida, whose journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment he was born, CJ has faced immense medical challenges with unwavering determination and a smile that defies the odds.
CJ was born with OEIS Complex, one of the rarest and most severe congenital disorders. According to the U.S. National Library of Medicine (MedlinePlus), OEIS Complex is a combination of birth defects that includes omphalocele (when abdominal organs protrude outside the body), exstrophy of the bladder (where the bladder is exposed outside the body), imperforate anus (absence of a normal anal opening), and spinal defects such as spina bifida. This condition occurs in approximately one in every 200,000 to 400,000 live births and requires highly specialized surgical care across multiple disciplines.
CJ has already undergone two major surgeries, one at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and another at Nemours Children’s Health in Florida, both of which are nationally recognized for their expertise in complex pediatric care. Through it all, CJ has displayed remarkable resilience and strength beyond his years.
At Miracle Flights, we are honored to be part of CJ’s journey by ensuring he has access to the specialized medical treatment he needs, regardless of the distance. His mother, Emily, lovingly calls him her “Warrior,” a name that perfectly captures his courage and determination.
“Without Miracle Flights,” Emily shares, “CJ wouldn’t have been able to get the help he needed all the way across the country. Thank you so much.”
