Miracle Flights is seeking a Director of Digital Marketing to lead and execute a comprehensive, data-informed content and digital marketing strategy that elevates national awareness, drives engagement and conversion, and supports fundraising, outreach, and mission growth.
This role is responsible for overseeing content strategy, content creation, digital publishing, social media, email marketing, paid digital advertising, analytics, and performance optimization across all owned and paid channels. The Director of Content Marketing ensures that Miracle Flights’ voice, storytelling, and digital presence are consistent, compelling, and aligned with organizational priorities.
Reporting to the Chief of Mission, this role collaborates closely with Fundraising, Events, Family Outreach, and external partners to ensure content and campaigns support revenue, engagement, and mission impact. This position requires strategic thinking, hands-on execution, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of digital platforms and performance marketing.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive content marketing strategy aligned with organizational goals, campaigns, and fundraising priorities.
- Define content pillars, messaging frameworks, and channel strategies that support awareness, engagement, and conversion.
- Ensure consistent brand voice, tone, and storytelling across all platforms.
- Plan and manage annual and quarterly editorial calendars in collaboration with internal teams.
Content Creation, Gathering & Publication
- Oversee the creation, editing, and publication of mission-driven content, including stories, blogs, landing pages, social posts, videos, email campaigns, and digital assets.
- Collaborate with the Chief of Mission and other contributors to gather family stories, partner highlights, event content, and impact narratives.
- Ensure content is optimized for platform performance, accessibility, SEO, and audience relevance.
- Proficiency in Adobe Suite is required.
- Manage content workflows, approvals, and publishing cadence across channels.
Social Media Strategy & Management
- Lead organic and paid social media strategy across platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and others as appropriate.
- Oversee content planning, publishing, community engagement, and performance tracking.
- Develop campaigns that drive awareness, donor engagement, and traffic to key conversion points.
- Ensure social media reflects best practices, brand standards, and crisis communications protocols.
Website Management
- In partnership with the Chief of Mission, manage Miracle Flights’ website content, structure, and performance as a primary digital storytelling and conversion platform.
- Oversee website content updates, page creation, and ongoing optimization to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with organizational priorities.
- Ensure content is optimized for SEO, including keyword strategy, metadata, internal linking, and search visibility best practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to support WordPress functionality, enhancements, integrations, and performance improvements.
- Maintain a strong understanding of website accessibility standards (including ADA and WCAG guidelines) and ensure content and structure meet accessibility and usability requirements.
- Safeguard brand consistency across the website, ensuring visual identity, tone, messaging, and user experience align with Miracle Flights’ brand standards.
- Monitor website analytics and user behavior to inform content strategy, improve engagement, and support conversion goals such as donations, applications, and inquiries.
- Support website governance, including content approval workflows, version control, and long-term site sustainability.
Email Marketing & Digital Engagement
- Oversee email marketing strategy, including donor, family, internal, and campaign-based communications.
- Develop segmentation strategies, content calendars, and testing frameworks to improve open rates, engagement, and conversion.
- Collaborate with Development and leadership to align email content with fundraising and stewardship goals.
Paid Digital & Google Ads
- Manage and optimize paid digital campaigns, including Google Ads, paid social, and other digital advertising platforms.
- Oversee keyword strategy, audience targeting, creative testing, budget pacing, and performance optimization.
- Ensure paid campaigns support awareness, applications, donations, and key organizational initiatives.
Data, Analytics & Performance Optimization
- Track, analyze, and report on performance across content, social, email, and paid digital channels.
- Use data and insights to inform strategy, optimize campaigns, and improve ROI.
- Develop dashboards and executive-ready reports highlighting KPIs, trends, and opportunities.
- Partner with leadership to translate analytics into actionable recommendations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Development, Events, Family Outreach, and Operations to support integrated campaigns.
- Support organizational initiatives, including fundraising events, awareness campaigns, recruitment, and partnerships.
- Collaborate with external vendors, consultants, and agencies as needed.
Team & Vendor Management
- Provide direction and collaboration to internal content contributors and contractors.
- Manage external partners related to digital marketing, paid media, or content production as assigned.
- Support workflow efficiency, deadlines, and quality standards across all deliverables.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field preferred.
5+ years of experience in content marketing, digital marketing, or communications leadership.
Demonstrated experience managing social media, email marketing, paid digital advertising, and analytics. Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, philanthropy, or mission-driven environments strongly preferred.

- Deep understanding of social media algorithms, email marketing best practices, and paid digital performance.
- Proficiency with analytics tools, Google Ads, email marketing platforms (MailChimp), Adobe Suite, website platforms (WordPress), and content management systems.

Compensation & Benefits
A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered based on experience, including health insurance, paid time off, holiday schedule, and retirement plan options. Target salary: 75K-100K annually, depending on experience.
