As Father’s Day approached, Miracle Flights was honored to share the heartfelt words of Bryan, father to Asher, our 2025 Child Ambassador. This Father’s Day, Miracle Flights had the profound honor of sharing the words of Bryan, father to Asher—our 2025 Child Ambassador.

In a moving video tribute, Bryan read a letter to his son’s future self—a quiet, powerful reflection on love, hope, and the unwavering strength of a father’s heart. His message spoke not only to the bond between a parent and child but also to the courage it takes to raise a child with complex medical needs, where each day brings both uncertainty and profound gratitude.

A Father’s Love 1

Asher, an 18-month-old from Las Vegas, was born with a rare and life-threatening airway condition that left him completely silent—unable even to cry. His family faced a terrifying unknown, desperate to find the specialized care he so urgently needed. With the help of Miracle Flights, they were able to travel to Boston for a critical airway reconstruction surgery.

That journey changed everything.

Following a successful procedure, Asher’s airway was opened, and in September, his parents experienced a moment they had dreamed of for so long: hearing their son’s voice for the very first time. “Words could never fully express our gratitude,” his mother shared, her voice filled with emotion.

It was a moment that echoed far beyond their family—a reminder of what becomes possible when access meets hope, and when no distance is too great to overcome.
This Father’s Day, we honored fathers like Bryan—men who stand steady in the storm, who carry hope when the path is unclear, and who give everything for the children they love. Asher’s journey is a testament to that devotion and to the transformative power of compassion, community, and care.

To My Brave Son, Asher

My sweet boy,

As I write this, you’re only two years old. Small in size, but already mightier than most people I’ve ever known. I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know this: I want you to one day read—or hear—these words and feel every ounce of the love, pride, and awe I have for you.

From the moment you came into this world, life gave you more than your fair share of battles. You were born with medical needs that most people can’t begin to understand. You’ve faced surgeries, machines, and more doctors’ visits than any child should have to endure. You’ve breathed through a trach, fought to eat, to grow, to move, to live—and you did it all with a silent kind of courage that never needed words to be heard.

You couldn’t speak, but your eyes told me everything. You told me when you were scared, when you were tired, and when you were ready to fight again. You showed me strength I didn’t know was possible. You showed me what it means to never give up.

There were nights I sat beside your hospital bed, my hand wrapped around your tiny fingers, praying for one more day. One more breath. And time after time, you pulled through. Not because it was easy, but because you are you—fierce, strong, and full of a fire that defies every odd they placed against you. I watched your body do things they said it couldn’t. I watched you smile through pain, laugh through beeping machines, and light up rooms even when you were too weak to sit up. You didn’t just survive, Asher—you thrived.

And now, as you read this at 18, I hope you know: you are a miracle. A living, breathing, beautiful miracle. Your story is one of resilience, of heart, and of hope. You’ve already lived a thousand lifetimes in terms of strength.

Whatever you go on to do—college, career, family, or forging your own path—I want you to never forget where you started. You were born with mountains in front of you, and you climbed them all. You taught me more in two years than I had learned in a lifetime.

I am so proud of you, Asher. I always have been, and I always will be.

With all my love, forever and ever,

Dad
