After their December trip, Regina’s mom shared an update.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately one in every 772 babies in the United States is born with Down syndrome. Regina’s tethered spinal cord is a neurological condition in which the spinal cord is abnormally attached within the spinal canal, limiting its movement. According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, a tethered spinal cord can cause pain, mobility challenges, and other complications if not properly monitored and treated.
Regina’s mom also shared a heartfelt message for the supporters who make Miracle Flights possible.
“I want to say to the donors that I am immensely grateful for giving us the opportunity to travel. It releases a lot of pressure from what we already have, dealing with a special needs child. I have nothing else but appreciation and gratitude towards all the donors for their kindness.”
