Christopher Khorsandi, MD, is Chairman of the Board of Directors. A member of the American Board of Plastic Surgeons with practices in Las Vegas and Los Angeles, Dr. Khorsandi received his medical education at Villanova University and Temple University School of Medicine.
He then received training at the University of Pennsylvania General Surgery program, with the opportunity to work at the country’s first hospital, Pennsylvania Hospital. He also received training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, followed by acceptance into Cleveland Clinic’s Plastic and Reconstructive Training Program.
Ann D. McGee is Miracle Flights' Founder and a Director of its Board of Directors. She has spent her life improving the quality of life for sick children and their families, starting with her career as a teacher of children with disabilities.
Born in Chicago, Mrs. McGee holds a B.A. and Masters in Early Childhood Education from Roosevelt University in Chicago.She enjoys traveling with her husband William, gardening, classic movies, fine dining and spending quiet moments with her cats and dogs.
Mark E. Brown currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Miracle Flights and brings with him an extensive background in marketing, communications and government affairs
His past leadership includes chief executive officer of Zen Entertainment, former vice president of The Howard Hughes Corporation and Station Casinos, and most recently as partner and president of R&R Partners, an advertising, marketing and public relations corporation. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Nevada, Reno and the Executive Program in Management at the John Anderson Graduate School of Management before beginning his career as a senior legislative assistant for former Nevada Senator Chic Hecht.
Vanessa Moreno is the Senior Executive Assistant at Miracle Flights overseeing internal operations of the organization, including Flight Operations and Outreach & Development. She joined Miracle Flights in 2006 in the Membership Department, and has played a key role in the transition and growth of the Miracle Flights. Vanessa was born in California, moving to Nevada at the age of 11. She’s a dog lover, enjoys camping, and her can’t miss television show is the Real Housewives of every city.
Rebecca Boyce has been the Director of Flight Operations since 2006, overseeing all flight department functions. She is responsible for all aspects of the flight department, including personal contact with families, researching and booking flights, changing flights to meet family/physician needs, maintaining the flight database, and development of existing and new programs. She also works directly with the airlines that provide support to Miracle Flights through donated tickets.
Kylie Tray is the Communications Manager at Miracle Flights, assisting in marketing efforts, press relations, social media and more. A Pittsburgh area native, she graduated magna cum lade from Westminster College, PA where she received a duel B.A. in English and Public Relations. Kylie has held several internships and jobs in the PR field, and recently obtained her M.A in Communications from Johns Hopkins University. A self-proclaimed book nerd, Kylie enjoys reading/watching anything with a good plot, going to the theater, and spending time with friends and family.
Christina Moon is the Director of Programs & Development, responsible for program expansion efforts by identifying and cultivating outreach opportunities in an effort to help more children and families in need. Additionally she creates and manages all fundraising opportunities, events and efforts. Having joined Miracle Flights in December 2013, Christina brings with her outreach and resource development experience from other nonprofit organizations, as well as a long history of community volunteer work. She has a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, loves to travel and read, and her true love and passion is her family and helping to raise her nephew, Juno.
Melanie Marcano is the Resource Development Manager at Miracle Flights, assisting in identifying, defining and developing funding sources to support existing and planned program activities. She has an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix and a B.S. in Business Administration from Saint Martin’s University in Lacey, WA. Born in Roswell, NM, she is a believer in aliens! Melanie loves reading the classics and making memories with her family.
Brooke is a recent graduate of the University of Oregon where she received her B.S. in Public Relations, with a minor in Nonprofit Administration. She has a vast array of nonprofit experience and was actively involved in campus activities as a student ambassador and sorority president. Brooke was born and raised in Las Vegas, and is happy to be home to pursue her career. Outside of work, she enjoys going to concerts, spending time outdoors and cheering on the Oregon Ducks. In her role at Miracle Flights, she is responsible for creating a referral network with social service groups, sourcing and securing placement at community awareness events, developing a volunteer core and recruiting Miracle Flights advocates through community and service group organizations.
Jessica Cardenas is a Flight Specialist, assisting in all aspects of the Flight Operations department including reviewing flight request applications, direct outreach with families, researching and booking flights, compiling and standardizing children’s stories, and more. Born in California, she considers herself a Nevadan having moved to the area at age 4. Jessica’s bubbly personality lights up the office and is on full display when watching her husband’s city league soccer team with their two daughters (she also played at her high school). A lover of good food, one of her favorite past times is cooking fry bread…and finishing it off with powdered sugar before finishing it off with the family.
Debra Alston is a Flight Specialist, assisting in all aspects of the Flight Operations department including reviewing flight request applications, direct outreach with families, researching and booking flights, compiling and standardizing children’s stories, and more. She brings to the table over 35 years of corporate experience, including stints in both the gaming/hospitality industry, as well as real estate. She has taken courses in programming and hospitality supervision, and in her free time she enjoys spending time with family and getting lost in a good mystery novel.
Serving as the Accounting Administrator, Jeri oversees many of Miracle Flights’ financial operations. Born and raised in Santa Monica, CA, Jeri worked for Century 21 Real Estate for 10 yrs., managing all secretarial, bookkeeping and computerizing the MLS for its 3 branch offices, as well as the local Board of Realtors. Jeri also served as assistant to the Secretary/Treasurer for the Kern Valley Exchange Club. In her career, she worked for several CPA firms, gaining experience in various industries: Real Estate, Property Management, Insurance, Manufacturing and Tax Preparation. Jeri recently celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary, with her husband, who is also her dance partner. They continue to dance weekly and enjoy spending time with their grandchildren.
His duties included oversight of the U.S. Senate Banking and Energy Committee assignments. In addition, Brown was a founding member of Service 1st Bank of Nevada, valued in 2010 around $210 million, and previously served as the president of MBC Communications. Brown is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the UNLV Foundation.
Mark has an extensive background in nonprofit activities. He chaired the YMCA of Southern Nevada for 2 terms and was responsible for record levels of external fundraising. He also managed all philanthropic donations for both the Howard Hughes Corporation and Station Casinos where he directed contributions exceeding $40 million throughout Nevada and the western United States. Brown also led the effort to raise over $25 million dollars as the multi-year chair of the Clark County School Growth Committee.
His expertise expands from plastic surgery to minimally invasive hand surgery and the emerging new field of migraine relief surgery. Dr. Khorsandi is a three-time recipient of the national “Patient’s Choice Award” for his skills, and a two-time recipient of the national “Compassionate Doctor Award” for his healing compassion.
Dona Krystosek is the Family Advocate. She joined Miracle Flights in November 2016. Dona served six years active duty in the United States Air Force. After being honorably discharged, she went on to finish her nursing degree. Her nursing career consisted of providing specialized care to newborns in the nursery until the birth of her son. Dona knows firsthand the feeling of HOPE she felt when she found Miracle Flights during a 2 am internet search trying to find a way to get her son to the out-of-state medical care he needed. She still tears up at the joy she felt when she found Miracle Flights. She joins the team with eagerness and excitement to help other families find their way. Although Dona is a registered nurse by trade, she is a writer and researcher by heart. She has learned a lot over the past 10 years as the mom to a special needs child. She loves to help other children get to the out-of-state medical care they need to live longer healthier lives. Dona enjoys traveling, fishing, boating and just hanging out with her family. She lives in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
